PATRON OF HONOR
President of Poland, Aleksander Kwasniewski.
PLACE
Deblin - a town with a population of about
20 thousand, situated at the estuary of the Wieprz River to the Vistula
River,
approximately 100 km south/east of Warsaw.
Deblin is known as the home of famous "School
of Eaglets". The Aviation School was moved to Deblin from Grudziadz
in
1927 where it had been founded in 1925.
The graduates of the school fought on all
battlefields of the II World War.
There is the Warrant Officers' Aviation School
and the Air High School at Deblin. In 1954 the "Eaglets" Acro Club
was
established, which comprises the light aircratl,
glider, balloon, parachute and modeller sections.
For many years Air Force Academy has been
supporting aeromodelling activity. A very good atmosphere towards
model
flying results in organising aeromodelling
events each year there, including the ones for juniors, seniors and old
boys.
Deblin airfield hosted following events:
1995 European Flying Scale Model Championships, 1997 World R/C Aerobatic
Model
Championships and 1992 World Precision Flying
Championships (full size aircraft).
CONTEST SITE
Contest will take place at the airfield of
Polish Air Force Academy in Deblin. Apart from the runways the airfield
comprises
large grass parts.
The most convenient grass part of the airfield
in close vicinity (50-100 in) to the hangar will be designed for the contest
purposes.
The airbase hotel, hostels, officers club,
restaurant, cafe, hangars, sports halls, swimming pool, tennis courts will
be at the
disposal of World Championships participants.
All these objects are within the distance of 400 m
